Job summary

CHI Health Clinic in Council Bluffs is seeking a Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) at the Valley View Family Clinic. You will deliver compassionate, high-quality care, perform vital sign checks, collect specimens, and assist with medications and vaccines within a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates graduate from ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited MA programs, have completed the Medication Aide 40-hour course or hold current credentials, and possess BLS certification from the

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP
• Completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required:

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
