- Provide high-quality direct patient care in a team-based model
- Support smooth and efficient administrative and clinical practice operations
- Develop long-term relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
- Facilitate timely patient flow and communicate delays
- Update medication and allergy lists and review screening questions
- Provide hand-offs to providers entering exam rooms
- Obtain vital signs, height, and weight; perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, immunizations, and assist with routine procedures
- Lead outreach and health coaching for health maintenance and chronic disease management needs
- Monitor, order, and maintain medical equipment and supplies
- Use the EHR to queue prescription renewals, add medications, enter or scribe orders, and document visit tasks for billing
- Schedule diagnostic and lab tests; verify insurance, prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications
- Identify OSHA compliance issues, ensure patient safety, report adverse events and near misses, and protect PHI

Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 6 months clinical classroom
- Ability to develop empathetic relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
- Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and respect the beliefs of patients and team members
- Medical assisting duties under proper supervision, including vital signs, EKGs, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, immunizations, and routine procedures
- Preferred: 0–1 years related work experience or customer service experience
- Preferred: Graduate from BILH Primary Care Clinical Assistant Training program, EMT Basic License, Phlebotomy Certificate, or other healthcare training
