Job summary

Career is seeking an AR Billing and Collection Representative I to analyze overdue accounts, coordinate with payers and internal teams, and recover overdues per payer guidelines. The role operates on a standard Mon-Fri 8:30–5:00 schedule in a non-remote, on-site Freehold, NJ location.

The position requires at least 4 years in medical AR and proficiency with Excel, with a focus on timely resolutions. The successful candidate will handle patient and insurer inquiries, monitor payment statuses,

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience in medical accounts receivable.
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance billing required.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Minimum High School Degree or GED.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and update AR accounts to resolve payment issues per payer guidelines.
• Cross-trained in back-office functions including posting, AR (Insurance & Patient collection), denial appeals, charge modifications, adjustments, Medicare accounts.
• Phone line must be on daily and ready to receive all calls related to patient bills from patients or insurers.
• Check Navinet or payer websites for payment status and set follow-up on open balances.
• Surgimate must be on daily and ready to assist with pre-surgery requirements including pricing check.
• Provide monthly updates on litigation accounts and closures.
• Answer billing questions clearly; pull charts/files as necessary.
• Handle patient, coworkers, physicians' billing questions and escalate complex issues to Manager.
• Respond to correspondence from insurers and physicians regarding outstanding balances and write-offs.
• Ensure patient confidentiality laws are followed.
