Health Plus Ortho Management / Advanced Orthopedics Sports Medicine in Freehold, NJ seeks an AR Billing and Collection Representative I. The role analyzes overdue accounts, coordinates with payers and staff, and drives timely resolutions to minimize risk.

On-site, Monday–Friday, 8:30–5:00, with comprehensive benefits. Requires 4+ years in medical AR billing, knowledge of healthcare billing, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of medical accounts receivable experience.
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance billing required.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Minimum high school degree or GED.
• English language proficiency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsabilités

• Analyze and update AR accounts to resolve payers' policy guidelines.
• Cross-trained in back-office AR tasks including posting, AR (Insurance & Patient collection), denial handling, adjustments, Medicare accounts.
• Phone must be on daily and ready to receive all calls related to patient bills from patients or insurers.
• Check Navinet or payor websites for payment status and set follow-up on open balances.
• Turn on Surgimate daily to assist with pre-surgery requirements including pricing check.
• Provide monthly updates on all litigation accounts and closures.
• Answer billing questions clearly and politely; pull charts/files as necessary.
• Handle patient, coworker, and physician billing questions and escalate complex queries.
• Respond to correspondence from insurers and physicians regarding balances and write-offs.
• Comply with patient confidentiality laws regarding information release.
• Perform 30/60/90 day reviews and document outstanding accounts.
• Send 90-day status letters on accounts past due and 9-month appeal letters.
• Document all accounts with status and closure strategy; update logs/trends.
• Compile claims data and communicate denial trends with urgency.
• Reconcile AR accounts and process adjustments/refunds timely.
• Participate in billing and collection meetings.
