Job summary

Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented New Patient Scheduler for our Raleigh location. The role handles high-volume calls, schedules new patient and follow-up appointments, and maintains accurate demographics in the EHR system.

You will coordinate with clinical teams to ensure smooth scheduling, verify insurance details, and assist with changes or cancellations while delivering excellent patient service in a fast-paced medical office setting.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume call environment.
• Working knowledge of appointment scheduling systems.
• At least 1 year of medical scheduling, call center, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, and team members.
• Strong computer skills and ability to multitask efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Answer and manage high-volume, multi-line phone calls from patients and referring providers.
• Schedule new patient, follow-up, and pre-operative appointments in accordance with provider and clinic requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized schedules.
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record system.
• Coordinate with clinical teams and other departments to ensure seamless scheduling and care continuity.
• Return voicemails promptly and follow up on patient inquiries.
• Assist with appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling as needed.
• Provide directions and general information to patients regarding clinic locations and services.
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate when appropriate.
• Serve as backup support for front desk operations as needed.
