Job summary

Central Neighborhood Health Foundation is seeking an Enrollment Specialist in Whittier, CA to help patients enroll in health insurance, renew Medi-Cal, and apply for CalFresh. You will guide patients through plan options, collect documentation, and enter information into the EHR system to ensure continuous coverage.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work with DPSS and health plans. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. CAA certification within six months.
• One year of experience in a medical office or related healthcare enrollment setting preferred.
• Experience with enrollment, Medi-Cal eligibility, renewals, outreach or related fields preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and document patient interactions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide enrollment assistance for health insurance, Medi-Cal and CalFresh.
• Screen enrollment eligibility and schedule initial enrollment appointments.
• Enroll patients in Covered California health plans and manage renewal lists.
• Conduct proactive outreach to prevent coverage lapses and coordinate with DPSS/health plans.
• Maintain accurate notes and update EHR with enrollment activity.
• Educate patients on coverage options and available community resources.
