Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Mechanicsville, Virginia is seeking a Med Tech to deliver quality care, assist with daily living activities, and administer medications within the licensed scope.

The role requires CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, completion of Medication Aide Course, strong communication, physical stamina, and flexibility to work weekends or holidays; pay ranges $20-$23 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Medication Aide Course completed
• CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing
• Pass 2 medication observations annually
• Pass medication cart audits
• Attend 4 hours of medication administration education annually
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Organized and able to work with all levels of personnel
• Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers
• Able to lift 50 lbs and push/carry 25 lbs
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to certify within 60 days
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Able to remain calm during emergencies

Responsibilities

• Provide medications administration within the established scope of practice
• Maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position
• Assist residents with activities of daily living
• Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals
• Perform medication cart audits and maintain the cart
• Document all medication administration on EMAR/MAR
• Communicate resident needs to HCD and Daily Log
• Re-order medications and liaise with pharmacy as needed
• Complete required medication trainings
• Other duties as assigned
