Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Yorktown, VA is seeking a Medication Aide to assist with medication administration, daily living activities, and resident support. The role requires CNA and Med Tech licenses, medication course completion, and strong communication skills.

The position involves coordinating with the nursing team, maintaining logs and EMAR/MAR documentation, and contributing to a safe, respectful environment for residents. Weekend and holiday availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the administration of prescribed medications.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Reports incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assists residents to and from the dining room and activities.
• Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities.
• Checks on residents who are ill and reports status or concerns.
