Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Mechanicsville, VA seeks a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist residents with daily living activities, including administration of prescribed medications within the scope of practice.

The role requires CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, a medication aide course, and strong communication. Flexibility to work weekends/holidays and attendance at trainings are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assist with activities of daily living for residents.
• Administer prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
• Respond to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Document and communicate resident status and appointments in Daily Log and EMAR/MAR.
