Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist with daily living activities for residents at our Mechanicsville community. The role includes assisting with prescribed medications within scope of practice and supporting medication trainings.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of the Medication Aide Course, and valid CNA and Med Tech licenses. Flex scheduling and team collaboration are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assists with administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Reports incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining room and activities.
• Check on residents, attendance at meals and activities.
• Communicate resident status and appointments to the HCD and Daily Log.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support.
• Complete medication cart audits and maintain the cart.
• Pass all medication administration observations and document in EMAR/MAR.
