Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality care for residents in Summerville, SC. You will assist with activities of daily living and administer prescribed medications within scope, while maintaining daily logs and adhering to policies.

The role requires CNA and Med Tech licenses, completion of Medication Aide Course, and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
• Assists residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities
• Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues to appropriate individuals
• Completes medication cart audits and maintains the cart as directed
• Passes medication administration observations and documents in EMAR/MAR
• Re-orders medications and communicates changes with the pharmacy and families as needed
• Documents all medication administration in EMAR/MAR and Daily Log
• Other duties as assigned
