Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Roanoke, VA seeks a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist with daily living for residents. You will administer prescribed medications within scope, maintain policies, and support activity planning while ensuring confidentiality.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completed Medication Aide Course, and valid CNA and Med Tech licenses. CPR/First Aid certification is required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must complete Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Pass medication cart audits as assigned.
• Attend 4 hours of medication education annually.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized and able to work with all levels of staff.
• Contribute to nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Courteous to residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report care concerns to RN/LPN or supervisor.
• Perform housekeeping tasks as directed.
• Respond promptly to calls and emergencies.
• Plan and conduct resident activity programs.
• Document medication administration and status in EMAR/MAR.
• Reorder medications and communicate changes to pharmacy.
• Attend medication trainings and in-services.
