Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Roanoke, VA is hiring a Med Tech to support residents with daily living activities and to administer medications within scope. You will document care, coordinate with nursing staff, and participate in activity planning and trainings.

The role requires a CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, CPR/First Aid certification, and a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Complete the Medication Aide Course.
• CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Pass all medication cart audits as assigned.
• Attend 4 additional hours of medication education annually.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized with the ability to work with all levels of staff.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assistance with daily living activities.
• Assist with administration of prescribed medications within scope.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures for the position.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergencies.
• Conduct medication cart audits and document in EMAR/MAR.
• Communicate resident needs to HCD and update Daily Log.
• Re-order medications and coordinate with pharmacy as needed.
• Assist in planning activity programs for residents.
• Participate in in-services and staff meetings.
