Job summary

Westmont Living in Encinitas is seeking a compassionate MED TECH to support residents with the medication program and daily living activities. You will assist with medication setup, documentation, and coordination with nursing staff in a homelike, friendly setting.

Qualifications

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community.
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test.
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-administration of their medications.
• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including MARs and documenting PRN reasons and effectiveness.

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-

  administration of their medications

• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at

  the direction of the RN and RSD.

• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:

  o Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance

  o Leaves no blanks on MARs

  o Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community

• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test

• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
