Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center, LLC in Gadsden, AL seeks a Medical-Surgical Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified) to provide basic patient care, monitor vitals, support mobility, and ensure patient safety on heart monitors for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, reporting changes to nurses, and maintaining a safe environment. Requires CNA certification or current NA/CNA licensing and BLS, plus six months acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, turning, repositioning, and transferring patients; may feed patients needing assistance and monitor intake/output.
• Take and record vital signs; observe and report changes to nurses; may assist with wound care under RN direction.
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms; keep environment clean and safe.
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital.
