Job summary
Prime Healthcare is seeking a Medical-Surgical Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified) at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. This full-time position covers nights (12-hour shifts, 7pm–7am) in the Medical-Surgical unit with heart monitor monitoring and patient safety emphasis.
Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, monitoring vitals, supporting mobility, reporting changes to RNs, and maintaining a safe environment for adults recovering from surgery or illness.
Qualifications
- BLS and healthcare certifications required or obtained within reasonable timeframe.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical terminology.
- Strong observation and reporting skills to alert nurses to patient changes.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Help with mobility and safe transfers to prevent skin breakdown.
- Take and record vital signs; observe and report changes to nurses.
- Manage supplies in patient rooms and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Transport patients within the hospital as needed.
