Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is hiring for a Registered Nurse in the 3 Main, Med Surg department. The role provides direct nursing care and coordinates multidisciplinary patient care on a PRN schedule at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham.

The position requires an RN license for Alabama, a Diploma in Nursing, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Prior RN experience and eligibility for licensure are expected.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 1 month (30 days) of hire date.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; documents and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
