UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN position in the 3 Main, MedSurg area. The role involves direct patient care and coordination across disciplines at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. Eligibility requires an Alabama RN license and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire.
• One year of RN experience is required.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
