Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the 3 Main, Med Surg department at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. The role provides direct nursing care under established policies and coordinates care across disciplines.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Nursing, an active RN license in Alabama, and a BLS certification. One year of RN experience is preferred to support discharge planning and patient care continuity.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; monitors, records and communicates patient condition.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
