Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 3 Main, MedSurg department at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. The role is PRN with duties including direct nursing care, care plan implementation, and discharge planning coordination.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care per established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; documents patient condition and communicates findings.
• Acts as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
