Job summary

Epiroc Drilling Solutions, LLC in Garland, TX is seeking a Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer to design, develop, and support blasthole drill systems, applying engineering principles to improve performance and customer success. The role starts onsite for six months with training, then hybrid with up to two remote days.

Candidates should have a BS in Mechatronics or Mechanical with electro-mechanical experience, strong CAD (Creo) and PLC/CAN bus knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics Engineering preferred; mechanical with electro-mechanical experience considered.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid knowledge of software tools to complete the mission.
• CAD experience with Creo preferred.
• Working knowledge of PLCs and related components.
• CAN bus systems knowledge - J1939 preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing custom electronic devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop products by studying customer requirements and researching solutions.
• Collaborate with design team to create sketches, layouts, and plans.
• Use CAD to produce preliminary and detailed drawings.
• Build models/prototypes and test the designs.
• Prepare Bills of Materials and supply specifications for components.
• Study test data and compare with existing designs.
• Handle change requests and issue product change notices.
