Job summary

Epiroc is seeking a Mechanical Staff Engineer for an onsite role in Garland, TX. The engineer will design, prototype, test, and optimize mechanical components and machinery, using CAD software to develop parts and drawings. Expect collaboration with cross-functional teams and occasional travel to mines and supplier sites.

Responsibilities include BOM preparation, design iterations, and supporting proposals and customers, with a focus on safety, manufacturability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum years of experience: 4+ years.
• Seasoned technical skills and understanding of product.
• Seasoned knowledge of software tools required to complete mission.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops mechanical components, equipment, and machinery based on customer needs.
• Uses CAD to create preliminary and detailed drawings and develops prototypes.
• Estimates scope, prepares BOMs, and coordinates with purchasing for components.
• Tests and analyzes prototypes to identify root causes of failures.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and supports proposals and customer meetings.
• Travels to mines or supplier locations as needed and supports testing on rigs.
