Job summary

Epiroc is hiring an Assembler Welder in Garland, TX to perform welding and assembly on drilling rigs. This on-site role follows standard safety guidelines and the 6am-4:30pm B shift from Friday to Sunday. You will read blueprints, lay out work, install hydraulic components, and connect engines and power units.

The position requires knowledge of welding principles, basic troubleshooting, and 2+ years welding experience, with opportunities for growth and training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical components and systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic components and systems.
• Knowledge of electrical components and systems.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office, ERP systems.
• Hand and power tools use.
• Knowledge of welding principles and safe practices.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred.
• Able to read specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• 2+ years welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Weld components using blueprints.
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, or written specifications.
• Install and connect hydraulic controls, pumps, rams, and other system elements.
• Mount, hook-up and connect engines, gear boxes, axles and other power components and units.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area and perform 5S activities.
• Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor.
• Select materials and processes to be applied.
• Set up and adjust equipment.
• Weld, in vertical, horizontal, flat, and overhead positions to make items of various sizes and shapes.
• Brazes, flame-cuts, beads, heat treats, pressure, and tack welds.
• Use hand and power tools of the welding trade.
• When necessary, use templates in measuring, marking, scribing, and cutting.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and guidelines.
• Identify and report safety risks.
• Maintain work related records and reports.
• Perform other duties as required or directed.
• Occasional, Infrequent
• Train new hires
• Complete appropriate paperwork for rejected parts
• Return to Stock (RTS) non-required parts to the Warehouse
