Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, is offering a hands-on co-op in mechanical/HVAC/energy design within the building systems arena. You will work on real CMTA projects, learn drafting and design under Professional Engineers, and use AutoCAD and Revit in a collaborative team.

The paid, onsite co-op runs for the May 2027–Summer 2027 period, with flexibility around school calendars. Ideal candidates are ME or Arch Eng students with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior.
• Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Ability to work full time in our office throughout the co-op term.
• Ability to travel locally for job site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems.
• Produce one-line diagrams/schematics.
• Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
• May assist in data collection and/or field verification.
• Work with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project.
