Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, offers a hands-on co-op in mechanical/HVAC/energy design for students pursuing Mechanical or Architectural Engineering. The role emphasizes teamwork and training by Professional Engineers in AutoCAD and Revit, with opportunities to work on real CMTA projects and learn the design process.

The paid, full-time on-site position runs through Summer 2027, with potential for future employment after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore (2nd year), or junior (3rd year)
• Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work both independently and with a team
• Ability to work full time in our office throughout the co-op term
• Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems
• Produce one-line diagrams/schematics
• Assist the design team in the process of assembling organized sets of drawings
• May assist in the data collection and/or field verification
• Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to help develop all aspects of a project
