Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, offers a full-time, onsite co-op for Mechanical or Architectural Engineering students starting January 2027. The program provides hands-on exposure to mechanical/HVAC/energy design and mentorship by Professional Engineers.

You will learn AutoCAD and Revit, collaborate on real CMTA projects, and gain skills in drawing production, field verification, and teamwork within a supportive office environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore (2nd year), or junior (3rd year)
• Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work both independently and with a team
• Ability to work full time in our office throughout the co-op term
• Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems
• Produce one-line diagrams/schematics
• Assist the design team in the process of assembling organized sets of drawings
• May assist in the data collection and/or field verification
• Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to help develop all aspects of a project
