Linesight is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to develop and refine project estimates for mechanical scopes, collaborating with project teams and clients to ensure accurate cost planning.

The role emphasizes experience with estimating systems and strong communication, enabling growth in a dynamic construction environment and exposure to diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an Estimator in construction or mechanical environment.
  • Experience with mechanical estimating, quantities, pricing or cost planning.
  • Experience using estimating systems such as Sage Timberline, InEight or CostX.
  • Degree/diploma in construction, engineering or related field.
  • Strong communication and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of estimate plans and coordinate estimate information with the project team.
  • Assist with the development of project estimates across mechanical scopes.
  • Prepare and maintain estimate documentation, including the Basis of Estimate and supporting cost information.
  • Review project information, drawings and specifications to identify scope, cost and quantity requirements.
  • Assist with estimate risk analysis and provide input on cost contingencies.
  • Research and maintain current local labor, material and equipment rates for use in estimates.
  • Support value engineering and cost-saving opportunities throughout the estimating process.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Continue developing your estimating knowledge and understanding of construction costs and market conditions.

As a Mechanical Estimator at Linesight, you will work with highly experienced, culturally diverse, and passionate teams, building your industry knowledge and developing your estimating skillset. In this role you will:
  • Support the development of estimate plans and coordinate estimate information with the project team
  • Assist with the development of project estimates across mechanical scopes
  • Prepare and maintain estimate documentation, including the Basis of Estimate and supporting cost information
  • Review project information, drawings and specifications to identify scope, cost and quantity requirements
  • Assist with estimate risk analysis and provide input on cost contingencies

  • Have experience working as an Estimator, ideally within a construction or mechanical environment
  • Have experience with mechanical estimating, quantity takeoffs, pricing or cost planning
  • Have experience using estimating systems such as Sage Timberline, InEight, CostX, or similar platforms
  • Have a degree, diploma or comparable experience in construction, engineering or a related discipline
  • Are interested in developing your career within construction estimating and cost management
  • Are an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Are detail-oriented and quality-focused
  • Thrive on building strong relationships with your team and clients through a shared purpose, openness and collaboration

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually with video required. The salary range for this role is between $80,000 and $120,000 but actual salary is dependent on skill set, education and experience
