Job summary

Linesight is seeking a Mechanical Estimator in Ashburn, VA to develop and coordinate project estimates, leveraging experience in construction estimating and cost analysis. You will support the Basis of Estimate, risk analysis, and contingency recommendations, while maintaining local rate libraries. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential to success.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project teams and clients to deliver accurate, timely estimates and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimator experience in construction
• Experience with estimating systems: Sage Timberline, InEight, or CostX
• Degree or comparable experience in a construction-related discipline
• Chartered status (RICS/CEP/CPE) or on the path to it with company support
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Detail oriented and quality focused
• Ability to build strong relationships with team and clients

Responsibilities

• Develop the estimate plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team
• Help the development of the total project estimate
• Help prepare the total Project Basis of Estimate and the Estimate Risk Analysis, making cost contingency recommendations
• Analyze and make recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

• Develop the estimate plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team
• Help the development of the total project estimate
• Help prepare the total Project Basis of Estimate and the Estimate Risk Analysis, making cost contingency recommendations to the project team
• Analyze and make recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization, project objectives and guidelines
• Maintain a library of current local rates for use in all estimates

• Have grown your experience as an Estimator over 5 years with increasing levels of scope and responsibility in a construction environment
• Have demonstrated experience using estimating systems such as Sage Timberline, InEight, or CostX
• Have a degree or comparable experience in a construction related discipline
• Are RICS, CEP or CPE chartered or are on the path to complete it. We can help!
