Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager 2 in Linthicum, MD to lead the MCAD drafting team within the Hardware Mechanical Department. The role combines people leadership with hands-on design work and program support.

You will manage ~12 drafters, coordinate with program teams, and drive process improvements while ensuring on-time delivery and technical quality. A Secret clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience; master’s with 6 years; Ph.D. with 4 years; additional 4 years may substitute for degree.
• US Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance; final clearance required to start.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical CAD design; 2 years leading a high performing team; 5 years of experience with mechanical part/assembly design and drawings.

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day workload and priorities of the MCAD drafting team.
• Partner with program teams to ensure technical quality and on-time delivery.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching.
• Forecast workload and develop staffing plans to meet demand.
• Coordinate work with external partners and suppliers.
• Drive process improvements and drafting standards.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and skill development.
• Support programs and strategic initiatives.
