Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support a project team on design and upgrade work for power plant and industrial facilities. You will assist with calculations, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.

The role emphasizes hands‑on learning, exposure to thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, and the opportunity to contribute to project reporting and data tracking. Summer 2027 start date.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, General Engineering, or Systems Engineering with strong coursework in mechanical systems analysis (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer).
• Proficiency with MS Office applications; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Work on project reporting, tracking, evaluating project activities and progress.
• Assist senior engineers on design modifications and upgrades to power plant or industrial facility systems.
