Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join a project team and support senior engineers on existing power plant and industrial facility systems. You will gain hands‑on experience in calculations, drawings, specifications, and project reporting while applying thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer knowledge.

Enrollment in an ABET‑accredited program is preferred; strong communication and MS Office skills are required as you collaborate with cross‑functional teams

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, General Engineering, or Systems Engineering with a strong academic background in mechanical systems analysis.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the engineering team in execution of project work on power plant or industrial facility systems and components.
• Work on project reporting tasks such as tracking progress and evaluating project activities and data.
