Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Nuclear Power Group to help design and modernize electrical systems for nuclear plants, SMR projects, and life-extension initiatives. You will work with senior engineers, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to safety and reliability through real-world project tasks.

You will learn industry standards, use ETAP for power analysis, and interact with Operations and Systems Engineering.

Qualifications

• This position requires active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with strong academics.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and clear written/verbal communication are essential.
• ABET-accredited program enrollment is preferred for candidates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations and design tasks for large nuclear plants.
• Use ETAP to perform power systems analysis and modeling.
• Assist with equipment design, selection, and integration (switchgear, MCCs, transformers).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with client stakeholders.
