Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Energy & Industrial Group to support project teams in various facilities, including power plants, oil & gas, and renewable projects. You will assist in design, calculations, drawings, and specs under senior engineers, developing practical engineering solutions.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a BS/MS in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering with strong thermodynamics, fluids, and heat transfer coursework, plus solid

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical/ aerospace/ chemical engineering or similar.
• Strong academic background in mechanical systems analysis (thermodynamics, fluids, heat transfer).
• Good written and verbal communication skills; strong PC skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing system designs for projects in energy and industrial sectors.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations and drawings.
• Assist in preparing technical specifications, bid evaluation, and review vendor drawings.
• Support project reporting and tracking of activities and progress.
