Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Chicago, IL is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join a project team and assist the engineering group in executing project work related to power plant or industrial facility systems.

Under supervision of senior engineers, you will develop engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications, and help track project progress and reporting while applying coursework toward real-world designs. This summer-start internship aligns with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Completion of coursework toward a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to project reporting, tracking progress and data analysis.
• Support senior engineers on design modifications and upgrades to power plant or industrial systems.
