Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in a related field.
• Willingness to work full-time, 40 hours/week, onsite in Needham, MA.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and design practices.
• Hands-on prototype development and testing experience desired, with basic machine shop tooling familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to concepting and development of next-gen Shark products through brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping bold ideas.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product managers on real-world challenges.
• Build, test, and iterate prototypes and lab rigs to validate performance and usability.
• Analyze testing data and consumer feedback to inform design decisions.
• Participate in design reviews to identify root causes and propose practical solutions.
• Own engineering tasks with increasing complexity, including materials, manufacturing, and mass production considerations.
