SharkNinja, a global product design and technology company headquartered in Needham, MA, offers a Spring 2027 Mechanical Engineering Co-op from January to June. You’ll join a world-class team, contributing to concepting, prototyping, testing, and refining next-gen home appliances and beauty products.

As a current student or recent graduate, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, designers, and product managers in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a related bachelor’s/master’s/PhD program or has graduated from such a program within the past year.
• Full-time, 40-hour work week onsite in Needham, MA.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on development and testing experience with prototypes.
• Familiarity with CAD tools and 3D printing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to concepting and development of next-gen Shark products by brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping bold ideas.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product managers to explore innovative solutions to real-world consumer challenges.
• Build, test, and iterate prototypes and lab rigs while gaining hands-on experience in validating performance, usability, and reliability.
• Analyze data from testing and consumer feedback to inform design decisions and optimize product functionality.
• Participate in technical deep-dives and design reviews to uncover root causes of challenges and propose creative, practical solutions.
• Take ownership of engineering tasks with increasing complexity, gaining exposure to materials, mechanisms, manufacturing, and mass production considerations.
• Support design feasibility analysis, CAD modeling, and technical documentation alongside experienced engineers.
• Dive into the "why" behind the product, understanding the user journey and driving innovations that surprise and delight.
• Learn from failure, move fast, and iterate with purpose as you help bring never-been-done ideas to life at the speed of a startup backed by the muscle of a global brand.
