Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer for our Jacksonville mills. The role may also be titled Mechanical Reliability Engineer or Mechanical Project Engineer depending on mill needs, with responsibilities across safety, reliability, and project execution.

The position requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or related field and 0–4 years of experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology or related field.
• 0-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and support mill safety, environmental, quality, and reliability expectations across assigned mechanical maintenance areas.
• Provide technical support to maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors to resolve mechanical equipment and reliability issues.
• Develop, manage, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment tracking, rebuild programs, spare parts planning, and maintenance documentation.
• Support daily, monthly, and annual outage work through planning, coordination, troubleshooting, training, and contractor management.
