Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Counce, TN mill to support reliability and project execution. Responsibilities include safety, maintenance planning, and collaboration with operations, procurement, and contractors.

The role offers a path to Mechanical Reliability Engineer or Mechanical Project Engineer, with opportunities to lead capital projects and enhance equipment performance. PCA values environmental responsibility and practical problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology or related field.
• 0-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Experience using Auto Cad, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and support mill safety, environmental, quality, and reliability expectations across assigned mechanical maintenance areas.
• Provide technical support to maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors to resolve mechanical equipment and reliability issues.
• Develop, manage, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment tracking, rebuild programs, spare parts planning, and maintenance documentation.
• Support daily, monthly, and annual outage work through planning, coordination, troubleshooting, training, and contractor management.
• Use root cause failure analysis, equipment history, maintenance data, and cost information to reduce downtime, improve planning, and increase equipment reliability.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
• Coordinate and manage capital projects for engineering and maintenance departments from scope development through completion.
• Develop project justifications, cost estimates, engineering designs, equipment and material specifications, schedules, and startup plans.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology or related field
