Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Valdosta, GA mill. The role may be titled Mechanical Reliability Engineer or Mechanical Project Engineer, depending on mill need, and focuses on safety, reliability, and project execution.

You will collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors; require a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, 0–4 years’ experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology or related field.
• 0–4 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Experience using AutoCad, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and support mill safety, environmental, quality, and reliability expectations across assigned mechanical maintenance areas.
• Provide technical support to maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors to resolve mechanical equipment and reliability issues.
• Develop, manage, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment tracking, rebuild programs, spare parts planning, and maintenance documentation.
• Support daily, monthly, and annual outage work through planning, coordination, troubleshooting, training, and contractor management.
• Use root cause failure analysis, equipment history, maintenance data, and cost information to reduce downtime, improve planning, and increase equipment reliability.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
• Coordinate and manage capital projects for engineering and maintenance departments from scope development through completion.
