Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer for our Massillon, OH mills. The role may be titled Mechanical Reliability Engineer or Mechanical Project Engineer depending on mill need, with responsibilities spanning safety, reliability, and capital project execution.

The position requires a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering (or related field) and 0–4 years’ experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 0-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid driver's license
• Experience using AutoCAD, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project

Responsibilities

• Work safely and support mill safety, environmental, quality, and reliability expectations across assigned mechanical maintenance areas.
• Provide technical support to maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors to resolve mechanical equipment and reliability issues.
• Develop, manage, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment tracking, rebuild programs, spare parts planning, and maintenance documentation.
• Support daily, monthly, and annual outage work through planning, coordination, troubleshooting, training, and contractor management.
• Use root cause failure analysis, equipment history, maintenance data, and cost information to reduce downtime, improve planning, and increase equipment reliability.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
