Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is hiring a Mechanical Engineer at its mill in Michigan. The role may be titled Mechanical Reliability Engineer or Mechanical Project Engineer depending on mill need.

You will support safety, reliability, and project execution across mechanical maintenance and capital projects. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 0–4 years' experience, and authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology or related field.
• 0-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Experience using Auto Cad, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and support mill safety, environmental, quality, and reliability expectations across assigned mechanical maintenance areas.
• Provide technical support to maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors to resolve mechanical equipment and reliability issues.
• Develop, manage, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment tracking, rebuild programs, spare parts planning, and maintenance documentation.
• Support daily, monthly, and annual outage work through planning, coordination, troubleshooting, training, and contractor management.
• Use root cause failure analysis, equipment history, maintenance data, and cost information to reduce downtime, improve planning, and increase equipment reliability.
