Job summary

Dematic’s Lifecycle Support Services Modernizations and Upgrades team seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join a project execution group for a strategic client. The role targets candidates with 0–5 years of experience in material handling system design and application, capable of taking initiative and performing under pressure.

The engineer will lead daily tactical tasks across multiple short-duration projects, collaborating with customers and leveraging internal knowledge to exceed expectations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 0–5 years of industry-related experience preferred
• Proficient in CAD design software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, or similar

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete mechanical engineering scope for material handling systems
• Perform site audits to collect project and solution information
• Design semi-complex systems integrating mechanical hardware, controls, and software
• Prepare engineering sketches, manufacturable equipment layouts
• Support purchasing processes and release assemblies for manufacturing
• Assist on-site installation and commissioning as needed
• Collaborate with team and customers to troubleshoot on-site equipment
• Provide regular project performance reports (delivery, budget, quality, risks)
• Suggest ideas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions
