Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Lifecycle Support Services Modernizations and Upgrades team in the United States. The role focuses on leading and contributing to mechanical design, site audits, and project execution for short-duration deployments across clients, with up to 25% travel.

You will work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver robust material handling solutions, leveraging CAD tools and cross-functional collaboration to exceed expectations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 0-5 years of industry-related experience or mechanical engineering experience preferred
• Proficient in CAD design software; AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, or similar

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete mechanical engineering scope for material handling systems
• Perform site audits to collect project and solution information
• Complete the design of semi-complex systems that integrate mechanical hardware, controls components, and software
• Provide support for specification and preparation of engineering sketches, manufacture equipment, and layout drawings, with appropriate follow-up
• Follow Purchase Request and Order Entry processes to purchase equipment and release assemblies for manufacturing
• Support on-site installation and engineering commissioning efforts as the need arises
• Work with team members and customers to tackle problems and troubleshoot equipment on-site
• Regularly report on project performance including but not limited to: timely delivery, budget, quality, risks
• Participate in recommending ideas related to efficiency improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer happiness
