Job summary

Dematic's Lifecycle Support Services Modernizations and Upgrades (LSSMU) team seeks a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to and lead material handling system design for one of its strategic clients. The role emphasizes initiative, customer-facing composure, and execution across multiple projects.

As part of the LSSMU team, you will perform daily project execution tasks, collaborate with customers, and help build a dynamic group by leveraging internal knowledge and industry experience to exceed

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0-5 years of industry-related mechanical engineering experience preferred.
• Proficient in CAD design software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, or similar.
• Experience with MS programs: Word, Excel, TEAMS.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and team collaboration.
• Organizational, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete mechanical engineering scope for material handling systems.
• Perform site audits to collect project and solution information.
• Design semi-complex systems that integrate mechanical hardware, controls components, and software.
• Prepare engineering sketches, manufacture equipment, and layout drawings with follow-up.
• Follow Purchase Request and Order Entry processes to purchase equipment and release assemblies.
• Support on-site installation and commissioning efforts as needed.
• Report on project performance including delivery, budget, quality, and risks.
• Suggest ideas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
