Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Lifecycle Support Services Modernizations and Upgrades (LSSMU) team. The role centers on leading mechanical design for material handling systems across short-duration projects, collaborating with customers and internal teams to achieve results under pressure.

Key duties include managing mechanical scope, conducting site audits, designing semi-complex systems, creating sketches and layouts, supporting procurement, and assisting with on-site

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–5 years of industry-related/mechanical engineering experience preferred.
• Proficient in CAD design software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX or similar.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, TEAMS.
• Strong verbal and written communication and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete mechanical engineering scope for material handling systems.
• Perform site audits to collect project and solution information.
• Design semi-complex systems integrating mechanical hardware, controls and software.
• Prepare engineering sketches, manufacture equipment, and layout drawings with follow-up.
• Follow Purchase Request and Order Entry processes to procure equipment and release assemblies.
• Support on-site installation and engineering commissioning efforts as needed.
• Collaborate with team and customers to troubleshoot on-site equipment.
• Report project performance including delivery, budget, quality, and risks.
• Suggest ideas for efficiency, cost reduction, and improving customer happiness.
