Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Lifecycle Support Services Modernizations and Upgrades (LSSMU) team. You will be part of a project execution team supporting one of Dematic's strategic clients with material handling system design and deployment.

We look for 0–5 years of related experience, CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX) and strong communication skills. The role involves up to 25% travel, collaboration with customers, and delivering on-time solutions across multiple

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 0–5 years of industry-related experience or mechanical engineering experience preferred
• Proficient in CAD design software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX or similar
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams) is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; team orientation

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete mechanical engineering scope for material handling systems
• Perform site audits to collect project and solution information
• Design semi-complex systems integrating mechanical hardware, controls, and software
• Prepare engineering sketches, manufacture equipment, and layout drawings with follow-up
• Follow Purchase Request and Order Entry processes to procure equipment and release assemblies for manufacturing
• Support on-site installation and commissioning efforts as needed
• Collaborate with team and customers to troubleshoot equipment on-site
• Report on project performance including time, budget, quality, risks
• Suggest ideas to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer happiness
