Basaran Grinder Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Level 2 Machine Design Engineer for an on-site full-time role in Hauppauge, NY. You will design machine components and subassemblies, ensuring manufacturability, and provide usable drawings with GD&T.

The position requires collaboration with machinists and suppliers and supports assembly and testing. Responsibilities include selecting components, updating BOMs, and maintaining revision control while ensuring design constraints are met.

Position Summary

Designs complete machine components and smallersubassemblies with limited supervision. This engineer is expected to understandhow parts will be manufactured and assembled, produce usable drawings, andresolve routine design problems without constant direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design brackets, covers, guards, fluid-system components, supports, and mechanical subassemblies
• Develop manufacturing drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances,fits, and GD&T
• Select purchased components and verify load, speed, environmental, and packaging requirements
• Coordinate with machinists, assemblers, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve design and fabrication questions
• Update bills of materials and engineering changes while maintaining revision control
• Support machine assembly, startup, testing, and corrective-action work

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to design and release manufacturable mechanical parts and assemblies
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, fits, fasteners, bearings, and common materials
• Ability to interpret machining, fabrication, and assembly constraints
• Clear written and verbal communication

Preferred Experience (5+ years)

• Experience with industrial machinery, automation, fixtures, or machinetools
• Basic FEA or engineering calculation experience
• Experience working directly with machinists and assemblers

What Success Looks Like

Releases reliable work with few corrections and can take a defined subassembly from concept through manufacturing support.

Full-time position based primarily on-site in Hauppauge, New York

Typical company schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; specific hours depend on the role
