Job summary

S&B is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team. Under close supervision, you will perform routine assignments that require standard design techniques and criteria, with activities reviewed by senior engineers.

We value safety, timely project completion, and cost-effective solutions. This internship offers exposure to diverse EPC projects in Oil & Gas, Chemicals, and Energy transitions, with a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At least two years of undergraduate coursework completed.
Experience with engineering software and automated design equipment is preferred.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Prepares basic design sketches and performs calculations for equipment, components, structures, or systems.
Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
Gathers data to help prepare equipment specifications, inquiries and purchase requisitions.
Evaluates vendors' bids and drawings for simple equipment and specialty items.
Participates in the preparation of equipment lists, piping line lists and specialty item lists.
Participates in preparation of design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals.
Participates in plant Start-ups.
