Job summary

S&B is currently seeking an Instrument and Controls Engineer Intern who, under close supervision, performs routine assignments that apply standard design techniques and criteria. This paid internship provides hands-on exposure to engineering tasks within an EPC environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of undergraduate study in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Working knowledge of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
• Previous internship experience is preferred, but not required.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepares basic design sketches and performs calculations supporting design of equipment, components, structures, or systems.
• Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to help prepare equipment specifications, inquiry and purchase requisitions.
• Evaluates vendors’ bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications for simple equipment.
• Participates in the preparation of equipment lists and load summaries.
• Participates in preparation of design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals.
• Participates in plant start-ups and field assignments as required.
