Job summary

S&B is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern who, under close supervision, performs routine assignments that apply standard design techniques and criteria.

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Electrical Engineering or related field, you will gain hands-on experience with design calculations, field data collection at plants, equipment specifications, and vendor evaluations as part of a multi-discipline EPC team at S&B.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
• Working knowledge of computer software packages and automated engineering/design equipment.
• Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepares basic design sketches and performs calculations for equipment, components, structures, or systems.
• Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to help prepare equipment specifications, inquiry and purchase requisitions for approval.
• Evaluates vendors' bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications for simple equipment.
• Participates in the preparation of equipment lists and load summaries.
• Participates in preparation of design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals.
• Participates in plant start-ups and field assignments as required.
